How do English Rose Kitchens compare with other kitchen brands?
If you are planning on buying a new kitchen, you will want to explore all of your options. On one hand, you want as high quality as possible, but on the other, you may have a limited budget. So, how do you find the brand/s that offer the best quality for your budget?
English Rose Kitchens are sold mainly through independent kitchen showrooms. So, how do English Rose Kitchens compare with other brands in terms of price and quality?
How do English Rose Kitchens compare with the high street chains and trade-only suppliers?
For many people, the obvious first stop when looking for a new kitchen would be the large high street chains. After all, their showrooms are everywhere, so it is a convenient option, and we are all familiar with their names. Alternatively, you might go through your local builder and use one of the trade-only suppliers.
You’ll probably expect the high street chains and trade-only suppliers to quote you a lot less than what an independent kitchen showroom quotes for an English Rose kitchen. However, you’d be wrong. In fact, there isn’t much difference — the prices are very similar.
The same cannot be said for the quality, though, since English Rose Kitchens are built to last considerably longer. So, for example, the doors used by the high street chains and trade-only suppliers are mainly the low-quality wrapped type. These are the types that peel. In contrast, the doors used by English Rose Kitchens are the high-quality lacquered or laminate types. These will never peel.
Another difference is the quality of the chipboard used. The units sold by the chains and trade-only suppliers are constructed from low- density chipboard. The problem with low-density chipboard is it bows under the weight of the worktops. In contrast, English Rose Kitchens are constructed from high-density chipboard. High-density chipboard will never bow under the weight of the worktops.
How do they compare with other brands sold by independent kitchen showrooms?
English Rose are one of many kitchen brands sold by independent kitchen showrooms. So, how do they compare with these other brands?
Price and quality wise, the brands independents sell differ. So, some brands cost less than English Rose, some cost similar to English Rose & some cost more than English Rose.
Likewise, some brands are lower quality than English Rose, some similar quality and others higher quality. So, for example, English Rose kitchens are flat-pack. In contrast, many others brands sold by independents are factory assembled/rigid.
Factory assembled/rigid kitchens offer three advantages over flat pack kitchens. Firstly they cost less to install as you don’t have to pay a fitter to assemble the units. Secondly, they reduce the time it takes to install the kitchen & therefore minimises disruption. Thirdly, they don’t have unsightly metal fixings under the wall units like flat pack kitchens do.
The good news is, many of the brands that are factory assembled/rigid are no more expensive than English Rose’s flat pack kitchens.
