How to find the best-value suppliers of dark wood kitchens in your area
If you’re looking for dark wood kitchens, there are plenty of suppliers to choose from. For example, there are the large chains, such as Wickes, Wren and Magnet, and trade-only suppliers like Howdens and Benchmarx. On the other hand, there are also a lot of smaller, independent kitchen showrooms.
With so many choices, the problem is how to compare them all in terms of price and quality. Only by doing this, though, can you find the best-value suppliers of dark wood kitchens.
Dark wood kitchens from the chains and trade-only suppliers
Many people searching for dark wood kitchens will start with the large high street chains. Examples of these are Wren, Magnet and Wickes. Alternatively, If they’re having building work done, they might try a trade-only supplier such as Howdens via their builder. There are both advantages and disadvantages, though, to these options.
The most obvious advantage is that the kitchens sold through these outlets are usually cheap. In addition, there’s likely to be a branch near you.
However, there are many downsides of using these places. The biggest one is that the quality of their kitchens are low. This means that the kitchen they sell you is unlikely to last very long, negating the lower price.
The design service these places offer also usually leave a lot to be desired. Their designs rarely make best use of the space available and are often riddled with design errors. Worst of all, sometimes their designs don’t even fit.
In addition, when you buy a kitchen from a trade-only supplier such as Howdens, you’re buying a kitchen with little or no come back. This is because your contract is with your builder and not with the trade-only supplier. Therefore, if, a few years down the line, you get a problem with your kitchen, when you try going back to the trade-only supplier, they’re likely to tell you that they only deal with the trade and you need to go back to your builder. However, when you go back to your builder, they’re likely to tell you that they’re only responsible for the fitting and you need to go back to the trade-only supplier. This toing and froing will probably go on for some time until you eventually give up.
Dark wood kitchens from independent kitchen showrooms
In addition to the large chains, you can also get dark wood kitchens through most independent kitchen showrooms. The benefit of going this route is that you should get a higher-quality kitchen and a better design.
Unfortunately, the reality is that many of the kitchens sold by independents are no better quality than the kitchens the chains and trade-only suppliers offer. Also, many of the showrooms who do sell high-quality kitchens tend to charge a small fortune for them.
The other problem is that many independents are no better at designing kitchens than the chains and trade-only suppliers.
The good news is, there are independents out there who sell high-quality, affordable, dark wood kitchens that are professionally designed.
