How do Ballerina Kitchens compare with other German brands?
If you are buying a new kitchen, you’ll want the best — or at least the best your budget will run to. German kitchen brands have a reputation for quality. Ballerina Kitchens are one of the brands you might come across on your search.
So, how do Ballerina Kitchens compare in price and quality to other German brands?
How do Ballerina Kitchens compare with other German brands in quality?
Although most German kitchens are higher-quality than places like Howdens, Wren, Wickes and Magnet, they’re not all the same quality, they differ. Ballerina are one of the higher-quality brands.
Why are Ballerina kitchens higher-quality than many other brands?
All German kitchens have cross beams. They are sometimes also called cross bars. These give the unit it’s strength and durability.
Ballerina have high-quality wooden cross beams. In contrast, many other brands have lower-quality chipboard cross beams.
Below are what cross beams look like.

Another quality difference are the backs of the units. Ballerina benefit from having 8mm thick solid backs for enhanced strength and durability. In contrast, many other brands offer lower-quality 3, 4 or 5mm thick hardboard backs.
The other benefit Ballerina offer is that their shelves are 19mm thick. In contrast, lower-quality German brands come with less durable 16mm shelves.
Although Ballerina offer 19mm shelves in their units, the sides of their cabinets are 16mm thick. Only 3 German brands offer 19mm thick shelves & sides. Although these all cost more than Ballerina, one of them only cost 5-10% more.
Ballerina kitchens also offer a choice of around 30 different interior cabinet colours to choose from. Therefore, you’re usually always able to match the outside colour of your kitchen with the inside colour. In contrast, lower specification German brands only offer 1, 2, 3 or 4 interior colour choices. Therefore, it’s rare that you’ll be able to co-ordinate the outside colour of your kitchen with the inside.
How do Ballerina Kitchens compare with other German brands in price?
German kitchens differ substantially in price. Therefore, some brands cost as little as places places like Howdens, Wren and Wickes, whereas others can cost up to 3 or 4 times the price of those places.
Despite being one of the higher quality German kitchen brands, Ballerina sit at the lower end of the price scale.
Although Ballerina are at the lower end of the price scale, they are by no means the cheapest German kitchen brand. There are several other brands that cost less than Ballerina.
