Kitchen design trends for 2015
Kitchen Islands
Kitchen islands have become more popular in the last few years. We’re predicting that this kitchen design trend will become even more popular in 2015. More & more designers are now planning the kitchen in two halves – one for cooking & the other for eating – with the two halves meeting in the middle with a central kitchen island.
Nature
Finishes inspired by nature is another key kitchen design trend for 2015. Materials such as concrete, slate, metal & wood are all proving to be popular finishes.
Below: recently introduced kitchens in concrete & metal.
This trend will also continue through to worktops, with quartz finishes such as leather, suede & marble becoming increasingly popular.

Using accessories to add colour rather than glass splashbacks
Another kitchen design trend predicted to become popular in 2015 is using accessories to add colour to white kitchen units. In the 3 pictures below, The handleless grip ledges are coloured rather than the standard silver/aluminium colour. The benefit of this is two-fold: firstly it saves £1,000’s compared to having coloured glass splashbacks & secondly, the handleless grip ledges can be quickly & inexpensively changed a few years down the line.

Grey Kitchens
If grey kitchens were the 3rd most popular choice of colour in 2014 after white & cream, 2015 will definitely be the year that grey kitchens replace cream in second spot. Whether it be a striking modern gloss kitchen, a subtle yet contemporary matt kitchen or a more traditional style painted kitchen, grey kitchens will all be in big demand in 2015.

Cashmere Kitchens
For those consumers who can’t decide between buying a grey kitchen & buying a cream kitchen, The answer could be to buy a cashmere kitchen which is a mix of the two. We’re predicting that Cashmere kitchens becomes even more popular in 2015 & a definite kitchen design trend.

Matt kitchens
With the growth in popularity of matt kitchens over the last few years, many commentators have started to question if matt kitchens are becoming the new gloss. Although this may be exaggerating the demand for of matt kitchens, they’re definitely growing in popularity.
We predict that matt kitchens will become even more popular in 2015.

White kitchens & cream kitchens
Just like in 2014, 2015 will see the continuing trend for white & cream kitchens. Buying a new kitchen is a costly exercise & in the end, most consumers tend to choose the safest neutral colours.
