Are grey kitchens becoming the new cream?
For the last 10 years, the most in demand kitchen colour has been white, closely followed by cream. However in the last 5 years things have changed with the emergence in the popularity of grey kitchens.
five years ago there was a big growth in the demand for grey kitchens, particularly from people looking for an alternative to black. This trend has continued and grey kitchens are now seen as a more mainstream alternative to cream. In fact, grey has grown so much in popularity over the last few years that grey kitchens are now the second most popular colour choice after white kitchens. Cream is now the third most popular colour choice.
From steely flint tones to soft, lighter dove grey, in a high gloss or tactile matt finish, weather it’s a contemporary handleless kitchens or a more traditional shaker or In-Frame kitchen, grey just seems to work for people at the moment & the demand for grey just continues to increase.
Back to black?
As 2019 draws to a close, grey is still an extremely popular choice. However, we are also starting to see an increase in the popularity of black kitchens. Not only are more people starting to choose black kitchens, but black kitchens mixed with another colour or finish. Whilst some people like to mix black with a wood colour, others like mixing black with bronze.
Although it’s still early days, our prediction is that demand for black kitchens will continue to grow & grow. In fact, we are confident that black will soon become a more popular than cream.
