Should you buy a concrete kitchen?
A concrete kitchen may be worth considering if you’re looking for something that is a little out of the ordinary. It’s unlikely that many of your friends will have one, if any, but is it really a good idea? Should you really buy one?
Reasons to buy a concrete kitchen:
Impact
As we said, few people you know will have a concrete kitchen, and it will be a real talking point. That’s not to say, though, that its impact will be purely due to curiosity, since it will looks great. It has a real wow factor, and it is going to genuinely impress your friends.
Uniqueness
Most kitchens are made to a uniform pattern, with each door identical to the others. This can look attractive, but there is something special about a kitchen where each door is unique.
That is what this kitchen gives you. Every door has its own unique colour and shading, while some will have pop holes and others won’t.
This will always be the case when you buy a natural material. All natural materials will be unique. The same would be the case if you bought a real wood kitchen.
Reasons not to buy one:
Cost
It is hard to get away from the fact that something as special as real concrete will have a price to match. Expect to pay at least twice the price of a concrete-effect laminate kitchen. A concrete effect laminate kitchen will look very similar. However, it won’t be as unique.
Durability (lack of)
Strangely, although you might expect concrete to be tough, this material makes for a delicate surface. This means it can easily get damaged and so won’t last as long as many other materials.
If you want a durable option, you’ll be much better off buying either a concrete effect laminate kitchen, or a concrete effect Ceramic kitchen. Price wise, the ceramic option will cost similar to a real concrete kitchen.
Availability
Some kitchen materials can be found in pretty much all showrooms, but concrete is not one of them. Only a very few brands offer them — and they’re all the more expensive ones.
