How to find the best-value modern wood kitchen suppliers
lots of places sell modern wood kitchens, from the high-street chains to high-end suppliers like Roundhouse and Sola Kitchens. But how can you find a high-quality option without breaking the bank?
Modern wood kitchens from the high-end bespoke suppliers
A number of well-known high-end suppliers, such as Roundhouse and Sola kitchens, provide bespoke modern wood kitchens. The reputation these companies enjoy is well deserved, and you’ll get a great-quality, well-designed kitchen. It will not only look stunning when first installed, but will still be looking great for many years.
The downside with these places is that you’ll pay through the nose for your kitchen. For instance, suppose you’re looking for a large kitchen, with granite or quartz worktops and top appliance brands. When fitting is included, these places will quote you £60,000 to £150,000.
If your budget covers that kind of price, then by all means go ahead — you’ll get a great kitchen. If you’re looking for something a little less expensive, though, what are the alternatives?
Modern wood kitchens from the high-street chains and trade-only suppliers
You can also buy a modern wood kitchen from high-street chains such as Wren, Magnet and Wickes. Alternatively, you could buy a kitchen via a builder from a trade-only supplier, such as Howdens or Benchmarx.
The benefit these places offer is that they’ll be significantly cheaper — the same kitchen from them should cost £25,000 to £40,000.
Unfortunately, there’s a good reason why these places are cheap. This is because their kitchens are low-quality. Therefore, if you do buy from one of these places, it won’t be too long before you’ll need to rip the kitchen out & replace it with something higher-quality. As the old saying goes, “Buy cheap, buy twice”
Quite apart from the quality of their kitchens, the design service these places offer also usually leave a lot to be desired.
Modern wood kitchens from smaller independent suppliers
Fortunately, you don’t necessarily have to spend a fortune to get a good quality kitchen. The right smaller suppliers sell kitchens that start at similar prices to places like Wren, Magnet and Howdens, but are much higher-quality. Plus, they’ll design your kitchen just as well as places like Roundhouse and Sola Kitchens.
However, unfortunately, finding the right smaller suppliers isn’t easy as they are few and far between.
